Places left for final writing course of the summer

There are still places left on the summer’s final weekend course run for writers by best-selling crime novelist John Dean at his home near Castle Douglas in Dumfries and Galloway.
John, author of 18 novels and currently published by London-based The Book Folks, is the creator of the popular DCI John Blizzard and DCI Jack Harris series.
He will run the course based around sense of place from his 19th Century home set in rolling countryside on the weekend of August 24/25, 2019.
The workshop will be suitable for writers of all prose genres and will be ideal for either individuals, including those planning to holiday in the area, or writing groups.
John said: “This summer’s courses have been well received and have given authors the opportunity to step back from the daily grind of life and tap into their creativity while also learning about the craft of writing.
“Some of the ideas that have emerged from the writers as they respond to the Dumfries and Galloway landscape have been remarkable.”
