Like many crime writers, I am delighted that Martina Cole has been named as the latest recipient of the highest honour in British crime writing, the Crime Writers’ Association (CWA) Diamond Dagger.

She has written 25 novels, all published by Headline, seventeen of which reached No.1. Total sales stand at more than 17 million copies, making her Britain’s best-selling female crime writer.

The Diamond Dagger award recognises authors whose careers have been marked by sustained excellence, and who have made a significant contribution to crime fiction writing. It is awarded each year from a list of writers nominated by CWA members.
