Bookings open for festival crime writing workshop

A reminder that bookings are open for my crime writing workshop taking place on my return to Darlington for the Darlington Arts Festival in May.

Title: An Introduction to Crime Fiction – Writing workshop

Event details Best-selling crime novelist John Dean is to run an Introduction to Crime Fiction creative writing workshop. John, author of 17 novels, including the recently-published Death List, is published by London-based The Book Folks and is the creator of DCI John Blizzard and DCI Jack Harris. The workshop will examine how to:

* Create a strong story, including plotting

* Create a strong sense of place

* Create strong characters

* Make the villain real

* Grab the reader from the start

* Keep the story moving

The event is part of National Crime Reading Month and Darlington Arts Festival.

Date and time: Sunday May 19, 2019 10am-1pm

Venue: Dr.inks (opposite Hash), 3 Coniscliffe Road, DL3 7EE. 

Price: £15 – not suitable for anyone under sixteen
