Catching up with old friends

Having recently delivered the manuscript of my latest DCI John Blizzard crime novel to the guys at my excellent publisher The Book Folks (No Age to Die has now been published), my attention has turned to the next DCI Jack Harris mystery.

It’s always an enjoyable moment for an author, not least because having spent many hours editing their latest novel, which is a detailed process, they are free to turn their attention to a new story, which gives them the chance to get creative again.

For me, as a creator of a series, it also affords me the opportunity to reacquaint myself with Harris and his team, good friends all, and that’s a satisfying feeling. Just as well because we are going to spend a lot of time together over the next few months!
