Places still available for crime fiction workshop

Places are still available for a crime fiction workshop being run by best-selling crime novelist John Dean as part of the literary line-up during Darlington Arts Festival in May.

John, the author of 18 novels, is published by London-based The Book Folks and is the creator of DCI John Blizzard and DCI Jack Harris. His books frequently feature on the Amazon best-seller lists.

John said: “These are exciting times for new writers to break through into the crime fiction world with more and more publishers springing up daily and signing up new talent.

“My workshop will offers some useful information on how to attract the  attention of a publisher.”

His events at Darlington Arts Festival, the workshop and a talk, are also part of National Crime Reading Month in May, which is organised by the Crime Writers’ Association and the Crime Readers Association.

The events, run through Inscribe Media, of which John is a director, are:

Venue: Dr.inks (opposite Hash), 3 Coniscliffe Road, DL3 7EE

Price: £15 – not suitable for anyone under sixteen

And The Meek Shall Inherit the Storyline - Talk

John will give a talk looking at how conflict in the modern age drives crime fiction.

Date and time: Sunday May 19, 2019 2-3pm

Venue: Dr.inks (opposite Hash), 3 Coniscliffe Road, DL3 7EE

Price:  £3 not suitable for anyone under sixteen – free for anyone who attends John’s Sunday morning crime fiction workshop. Pay on the door.
